Duke of Edinburgh Final Expedition
DofE Bronze Expedition
11-13 July 2016
A group of 22 intrepid year 10 students braved the wilds of South Wales to complete their DofE Bronze expedition. Taking everything they needed for 2 days they navigated across rolling hills and swampy fields to pitch their tents beside Rhossili beach, one of the best sandy beaches in the UK. Day 2 was shorter but involved more climbing as they followed a coastal path up and down craggy ravines. These cliffs are famous because at the end of the last Ice Age Stone Age hunters chased mammoths over the top of them – remains of a mammoth and a hunter were found in a cave. A great time was had by all and they still had the energy to sing songs all the way back!
